In the past 50 years Life's changing rapidly, lifestyles are evolving daily with new trends.Lets have a look at understanding major attitude changes that govern our lifestyle and can provide us a solution to the emotional problems we are facing today.
This is the first article in the upcoming series:
Renew Vs. New:
In the olden days if an item was not functioning well, then people try to repair it and make it work. For eg. if a fan is not working properly, they would try repair the thing with an electrician. Their attitude was to preserve the things, in spite of the condition in which it is. They try to work on it and make it better.
On a similar note, if a relationship is under strain they try to "repair".
But today we are looking at the generation, we always look for a "new" one, instead of repairing the old one.For eg: if a mobile is not functioning, we immediately go for a "new" one, we never try to repair the old one. The same attitude applies even to relationships.
If a relationship is under strain, we look for another one. that's where we are emotionally weak, we always look for the easiest part.
"Repairing" needs understanding of the underlying issues and finding a way to work around them/fix them. That takes lot of courage, ego and patience. So instead we look out for a simple approach, lookout for a new one and when the new one is not working properly then we repent about the old one.
This leads to lots of emotional issues difficult to tackle with.
So, friends never give up. However bad may be the relationship we can always repair it.
